What can you write about?

• Failure and fractography analysis — root-cause investigation and report for a part that broke, cracked, wore out or failed earlier than expected.
• Material and process selection — steel/aluminium/titanium grade, casting vs forging vs machining, heat-treatment and coating specifications for a new design or a cost-down.
• Technical second opinion — an independent view on a supplier report, material certificate, inspection result or specification clause.
• Notes and tools — an error, gap or suggestion you noticed in the technical notes or calculators.

What to include

A paragraph describing the situation is enough; photographs of the part (including the fracture surface), material and heat-treatment data, service conditions (load, temperature, environment) and time in service speed up the first assessment.
